Todd Doran
My name is Todd Doran, I have been married to my wife Shelli since March 1982. We have 3 grown daughters and 8 wonderful grandchildren. After we started having kids Shelli began to more regularly attend her Baptist church near Runnells. I would go occasionally, basically Christmas and Easter. They had a Christmas program at that little church and when the program was over the preacher talked about the baby Jesus growing up to willingly die on the cross for my sin. I had always thought I was a good guy, hadn’t done anything too bad… But the Lord used that preacher and one of the people in the program to take me down what I now know as the Romans Road. Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:8, “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 10:9-10, “Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” Admittedly I didn’t understand everything he was saying, but I understood enough to know that without a doubt he did everything he said because he loved me and all I had to do was repent of my sin and accept what Jesus had done for me personally on the cross and I would be saved. That night sitting in the pew I called upon and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” That verse is written for me and you. Later I was baptized in that same church because I wanted to be obedient in showing and sharing my faith publicly by giving testimony as a believer in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ through his death, burial and resurrection. My prayer is this helped you to get to know me better and specifically where I stand in my relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. My next prayer is that if you haven’t entered into a personal relationship with the Jesus that Gods word in Romans helps you better understand where you are with Him. The fact that He loves you no matter what, period, no matter what you’ve done or where you have been He did all of it for you and me, amazing!
