In Esau’s heart

- from hate to brotherly love

    - Genesis 33:4

    - Genesis 33:10 (Jacob saw God working thru Esau)

- from threats to protection

Keeping his promise

- to preserve Jacob's family

- to bring Jacob back to the promised land

    - Genesis 33:18-20


Application (Original Audience)

- God's faithfulness to His promises (Deut. 2:7)

- They were to follow Jacob's example of love and respect toward Edom (Deut. 2:4-5)

- Humility, forgiveness, and reconciliation are possible!

- Will they follow their ancestors example of walking by faith with God?


Application (Modern Audience)

- God is at work to soften and change our hearts!

- He wants to break us of our self-reliance.

- He wants to use us to bring peace and reconciliation.

- He wants to use us to be a blessing in other people's lives.

- He wants us to put Him above all things.
