  1. What traininng do you find most difficult? Physical? Spiritual? Academic? Other?

  2. What kind of effort do you think most people put into spiritual training?

  3. Read Philippians 2:12-18.

  4. In the NLT verse 12 says, "Work hard to show the results of your salvation," and verse 13 says, "God is working in you." How do these statements/truths of Paul work together?

  5. Look at verse 13. Why do you think it is important that God works on giving believers the desire and the power? Which one seems to escape you most?

  6. What made it important for these believers to avoid grumbling and arguing?

  7. In chapter 1:27-30, Paul challenged his readers to live as citizens of heaven. In 2:15, He told them to "live as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world of crooked and perverse people." What does it mean to be a child of God? Why is this significant in this passage?

  8. What does it look like to shine in your home? Neighborhood? City?

  9. In what ways have you been challenged by this passage?
